Summer Blockbuster Movies

Summer is coming up and so are the summer blockbuster movies. But which are worth seeing and which should you postpone until it goes to DVD? I’m a big movie buff so I’ll be watching most of the movies coming out this summer. I figured I might as well do a review on each of the movies I watch so that if there are disappointments, I can warn people in advance.  I consider myself an open minded movie buff so I’ll be watching everything from action movies with epic battles, “chick-flick” tear jerkers, to CGI-based super hero movies.

Here are some of the movies coming out this summer:

Iron Man - today
Speed Racer - next Friday
What Happens in Vegas - next Friday
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - May 16
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - May 22
You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (Adam Sandler) - June 6
The Incredible Hulk (starring Ed Norton) - June 13
Wall-E - June 27
Wanted (Angelina Jolie) - June 27
Hancock - July 2
Hellboy II: The Golden Army - July 11
The Dark Knight - July 18
Step Brothers (Will Ferrel) - July 25
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (Brenden Fraser, Jet Li) - Aug 1
Tropic Thunder (Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Nick Nolte, Matthew MaConaughey) - Aug 15
Babylon A.D. (Vin Diesel) - Aug 29

I’ll end this post with a video from Dane Cook, “Cinematic Adventures”:

  1. I think Hancock might stand out and surprise a few this summer because it is taking aslightly different look at the whole hero movie genre. However I am looking forward to many of the summer hero moviesin 2008.

  2. I agree! Hancock is one of the movies I’m definitely watching once it comes out as well as the other Marvel movies this summer. Btw, I recommend watching Iron Man! It was so good even Trace liked and she’s not too into Marvel movies. If you do decide to watch it, make sure to stay after the credits!!!
